Ithaca’s largest law firm is looking for an attorney with at least two years of experience for our T&E and Real Estate practice groups.  We anticipate hiring a candidate whose primary focus will be Trusts and Estates work, but who is willing to assist with Real Estate matters as needed.

T&E:  Our sophisticated estate planning and estate administration team is looking for an attorney to work with our stable, loyal client base.  Duties include counseling clients, analyzing tax and family issues, and preparing appropriate documents.  Relevant experience preferred but not necessary.

Real Estate: Our firm’s real estate clients include developers, lenders, business owners and individual home owners, and we are looking for an attorney to work with both our commercial and residential real estate clients.  Duties include counseling clients, contract negotiation, title review, representing clients though the purchase and sale process, as well as preparing and reviewing appropriate documents in conjunction with clients’ real estate projects.  Relevant experience preferred.

• Paralegal or related work experience or Bachelor’s degree. Proficiency in MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, Access and Outlook)
• Strong demonstrated writing and research skills

• Business knowledge helpful
• Possess the ability to learn immigration law and the firms’ immigration practice

• Under the supervision of Immigration attorneys, key responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
• Document review and compilation in support of government filings
• Communicate with clients and partner agencies regarding status and documents for filing, and collect important documents and data entry information
• Communicate with immigration services on cases
• Scan and enter data into database
• Mail, scan and send out time-sensitive packages
• Run and distribute deadline reports from database
• Assemble material for attorney review
• Intake new clients requests and create accurate service contracts and client records
