REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Two or more years of experience as an immigration paralegal in a professional office.
- Experience preparing immigration filings such as H-1Bs, L-1s, E-2s, O-1s, and TN nonimmigrant visa applications, as well as EB-1A, NIW, and PERM immigrant visa filings.
- Associate’s Degree or higher – Bachelor’s Degree preferred
- Strong research and writing skills

Miller Mayer, LLP is seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Commercial Real Estate Paralegal to provide vital support to our corporate and real estate attorneys. This role will be involved in all stages of commercial and residential real estate transactions. As a full-time, non-exempt, benefits-eligible position, the ideal candidate will work closely with attorneys, clients, and lenders to ensure smooth and efficient transactions.
PAY RANGE: $25.00 – $35.00 per hour based upon experience
BENEFITS: 401k with employer matching contributions, health insurance, vision insurance, dental insurance, life insurance, short and long-term disability insurance, paid holidays, personal time and vacation time.
KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Provide support and work closely with corporate and real estate attorneys on all aspects of the closing of commercial real estate transactions and residential real estate transactions. Responsible for the preparation of all documentation necessary to complete the closing transactions, including:
- Opening files (including requesting conflict searches per our firm policy), gathering tax/tax map information, and entering file information into software programs;
- Prepare and review purchase/sale contracts, loan commitment letters;
- Draft necessary documents for specific transaction; compile necessary financial documents;
- Preparation of transfer documents, preparation of statements of sale and lender closing disclosures, ordering tax certificates and water readings, disbursing mortgage funds at closing, shipping closing packages to lenders, making mortgage payoffs, and following up on all post-closing items;
- Submit necessary documents to State and County for filing;
- Coordinate closing with attorneys, lender and clients; and finalize closing figures;
- Review of Abstract of Title, property information and mapping, including zoning and taxes;
- Prepare title insurance commitments/policies for both lenders and owners;
- Follow-up on post-closing issues (releases/mortgage satisfactions), completion of final title insurance policies;
- Prepare and maintain 1099 filings at the end of each year;
- Maintain escrow files for closing escrows, make all payments in a timely manner;
- Correspond and clearly communicate with clients, realtors, attorneys, and lenders; and
- Provide support as requested by attorneys or administrative supervisors.
REQUIRED SKILLS:
- Proficiency with office equipment (computer, copier, printer, fax, postage meter) and software (Microsoft Office, document preparation software, title insurance software)
- Ability to communicate effectively with clients of varying levels of understanding
- Adaptability to changing deadlines and ability to apply problem-solving skills
- Strong attention to detail and excellent proofreading/editing skills for legal documents
- Ability to work independently, as well as part of a collaborative team
- Strong organizational skills and ability to manage client files with attorney oversight
QUALIFICATIONS:
- High school diploma required; AAS degree preferred
- Paralegal certificate helpful
- Notary Public License
- Commercial Real Estate experience helpful
