Miller Mayer, LLP’s Immigration practice group and Miller Mayer immigration attorneys Stephen Yale-Loehr and Carolyn Lee were recognized by Chambers & Partners in their recently published Chambers USA 2018 guide. Chambers & Partners is the leading international legal directory, providing rankings of the world’s best law firms and attorneys across numerous practice areas. Chambers publishes their annual guide to the US every May. On their website, Chambers explains “[F]irms and individual lawyers are ranked in bands from 1-6, with 1 being the best. The qualities on which rankings are assessed include technical legal ability, professional conduct, client service, commercial astuteness, diligence, commitment, and other qualities most valued by the client.” Chambers conducts their research from their London headquarters, where they employ over 150 researchers to identify industry leaders by reviewing recent work and conducting interviews with clients and other attorneys.
Miller Mayer’s immigration practice is ranked in the second band of immigration practices in New York State, and is the most highly-ranked immigration practice in upstate New York. Chambers recognizes Miller Mayer for its “prominent business immigration practice renowned for its proficiency in the EB-5 arena.” Chambers also highlights Miller Mayer’s work in developing and implementing immigration strategies and compliance schemes with corporations across many industries. Attorney Stephen Yale-Loehr, of counsel at Miller Mayer, LLP, was included in the first band of immigration attorneys in New York State. In addition to his work at Miller Mayer, Mr. Yale-Loehr is an active and internationally renowned member of the immigration law community. He teaches immigration and asylum law at Cornell Law School as a Professor of Immigration Practice. He also founded and was the original executive director of Invest in the USA (IIUSA), a trade association of EB-5 immigrant investor regional centers. Mr. Yale-Loehr has co-authored and edited many books, is frequently quoted in the press on immigration issues, and has often testified before Congress. He currently chairs the business immigration committee of the American Immigration Lawyers Association (AILA).
Attorney Carolyn Lee, a partner at Miller Mayer, was included among the Other Noted Practitioners among immigration attorneys in New York State. Ms. Lee is the Managing Partner of Miller Mayer’s EB-5 Immigration Group. Her practice focuses on EB-5 regional centers, developers, funds, and investors. Ms. Lee currently chairs the AILA EB-5 committee, and she also serves on the Public Policy Committee of Invest In the USA (IIUSA). Ms. Lee is a prominent national and international speaker on EB-5 matters and is considered a preeminent authority on EB-5 law.
