Miller Mayer immigration attorney Steve Yale-Loehr was quoted by Courthouse News Service in “Title 42 Ends Next Week, Leaving Questions About the Future of U.S. Immigration Policy.” Commenting on the imminent end of Title 42, Steve said that a proposed new rule expected to take effect this week would “prevent some people from applying for asylum. It would restrict asylum seekers in major ways. There are a lot of unknowns.” He said that he expects legal challenges to the new rule, especially the provision denying many people asylum claims if they cross the border illegally.
