Miller Mayer immigration attorney Steve Yale-Loehr was quoted by the Cornell Chronicle in “Webinar Highlights Advocacy for International Students.” Mr. Yale-Loehr, who presented the webinar, “Ballots and Borders: Election 2020: What’s at Stake for International Students and Scholars,” to more than 700 people, said that “Cornell is advocating for its international students, scholars and faculty in a number of ways. Most importantly, Cornell is a plaintiff in a lawsuit challenging new arbitrary wage increases on certain professional foreign workers and will soon contribute a comment criticizing a proposed regulation to limit the length of visas for international students and scholars.” Steve was also quoted in other recent media:
- Univision, “Urgen a la corte de inmigración dejar sin efecto regla de asilo que redujo el plazo a 15 días para pedirlo.” The article reports on two organizations that asked the Executive Office for Immigration Review (EOIR) to revoke an asylum rule announced in September that, among other changes, reduces the time to request asylum from 1 year to just 15 days. Mr. Yale-Loehr said, “This new proposed rule will radically restrict the ability of people fleeing persecution to obtain asylum in the United States.”
- Dagbladet, “Her er Trumps ‘luremur’ ” (Here’s Trump’s Scam). Mr. Yale-Loehr said, “As far as I know, there is no basis for President Trump’s comments that Mexico will pay for the wall.”
