Miller Mayer immigration attorney Steve Yale-Loehr was quoted by Voice of America in “Changes to U.S. Temporary Workers Program Scrutinized.” He said it remains to be seen “whether the [Department of Labor] can make such a large change [to the H-1B visa program] through the rule-making process” and whether the rules “pass legal muster.”
Steve was quoted by the South China Morning Post in “Why Tougher U.S. Visa Rules for Highly Skilled Foreign Workers Could Be America’s Loss and China’s Gain.” He said, “The new [H-1B] restrictions may prompt many foreign nationals to return home, both because it may be harder for them to receive a job offer and because of the uncertainty caused by the new rules. Even if former vice president Joe Biden wins the election, these rules will take effect before he becomes president. And Biden’s immigration platform also includes requiring higher wages for H-1B workers.”
Steve was quoted by CNN in “Fact Check: Trump is Still Falsely Claiming That Mexico is Paying for His Border Wall.” He said, “As far as I know, there is no basis for President Trump’s comments that Mexico will pay for the wall, period. They have not in the past, and I have not seen anything to indicate a change in the future.”
