Miller Mayer’s Rosanne Mayer and David Wilks Obtain EB-1B for Computer Scientist at a Private Employer

Apr 2, 2019 | Immigration Updates, Success Stories

Miller Mayer attorneys Rosanne Mayer and David Wilks successfully obtained an approved EB-1B Immigrant Petition for a computer scientist working for a private employer in Upstate New York. The petition was approved without a request for additional evidence from USCIS.  Through this approval, the Indian-born computer scientist will face a much shorter green card backlog than he would have through the labor certification or national interest waiver processes.

The EB-1B category establishes eligibility for a green card for “outstanding professors and researchers.” While typically used by academics at colleges and universities, private employers may also use EB-1B if they employ at least three full-time researchers.  If you would like to see if the EB-1B would work for you or your employees, please reach out to schedule a consultation.
