The Biden administration has promised to undo the damage to immigration caused by the Trump administration. But the new administration has many competing priorities with which to contend, including the coronavirus pandemic, the economy, and climate change.

In this first event in the Cornell Migration Initiative’s Reimagining Citizenship series, we’ll examine what President Biden and his team can realistically achieve when it comes to fixing our broken immigration system. What can President Biden achieve through executive orders, and how likely is Congress to take meaningful action? Miller Mayer immigration attorney Steve Yale-Loehr will moderate a panel discussion with three leading immigration experts: Doris Meissner, senior fellow at the Migration Policy Institute; Kerri Talbot, director of federal advocacy at the Immigration Hub; and Jorge Lima, vice president of immigration at Stand Together.
