George R. Pfann, Jr., is a partner in the law firm of Miller Mayer, LLP. He is a member of the firm’s Real Estate and Trusts & Estates Departments. His practice areas are Elder Law, Estate Planning, Medicaid Planning, Estate Administration and Real Estate
Mr. Pfann’s present areas of concentration include elder law (including Medicaid rules for obtaining Medicaid assistance), estate planning (including Wills and Trusts), estate administration and real estate. He was attorney for Cayuga Medical Center and its predecessors from 1974 to 1996. He has previously held the positions of Acting City Judge of the City of Ithaca, Assistant District Attorney for Tompkins County, and Assistant County Attorney. He has been active in Boy Scouts, and is a former president of the Alcoholism Council and the Family and Children’s Service, and was formerly on the Board of Directors of the Special Children’s Center. He is a member of the New York State Bar Association, and a member of the Elder Law and the Trusts & Estates Sections. He formerly served as President of the Tompkins County Bar Association and the Board of Directors. He has lived in Ithaca since 1945 and has practiced law for more that 45 years.
